Necro Posting has gotten a little out of hand. Newer members just join and do not read. It's annoying for so many of us.
Multiple warnings/bans are given out but it still happens. It just makes us look low quality.

I just think that allot of old shops and threads in the general discussion section should be locked.
I think Forumotion provides something to lock old threads, though.

It's not hard to look at the top middle or left of a post and see when it was posted.
Today is the 29th of December 2011, if a thread was posted October 1st 2009 and hasn't been replied to in over a year then why post in it? The members have probably gone inactive and the thread is really no use.

oh and also when someone does do this u should not post there later for any reason (flaming em, tellin em to delete their post, etc). it just further bumps the topic, which we dont want.

Bad news. That is not a good way to do it. You know, forum posts is the forums value, its history. If we delete old topics it will be like we deleted part of us. Pruning can be done to archive too, but even forumotion advises not to do it unless its some crazy active forum like themselves. There are many bad things that happen with pruning so its not an option.

P.S. I don't want to see anymore whining about it. Only thing you can do now is praise Amy, even if it needs a new topic for it.
