TOP 16 BRACKET

Post by Nekofjung on Wed Jan 23, 2013 2:20 am

First topic message reminder :

Yugioh Championship Series - Duel Academy

Season 4

TOP 16 BRACKET

It has been a harsh road. There have been trials. There have been failures. But where everyone else failed, 16 succeeded. These are the Top 16 competitive duelists this season in Duel Academy. They've proven it with a consistent record of wins over 7 Rounds of Swiss. It is now time for them to face each other. It's single elimination so every round is a must win. To get into the prizes, you'll need to win at least your 1st match. However, by this point I'm sure none of you have anything in mind except for one prize. So I ask you now,

WHO WILL BE THE SEASON 4 CHAMPION OF YCS - DUEL ACADEMY?

Of course, this wouldn't be complete if we didn't have some betting involved. As such, anyone may make a bet on who they believe will win the YCS (Top 16 participants must vote for themselves if betting). Bets can be made here:

http://www.duelacademy.net/t22907-for-gamblers-only#208591

Please try to make videos of the matches as a Featured Match for a Top 16 event will be greatly treasured. Also as such, anyone able to send me a video of a Top 16 match will receive 500 DP.

And now for what you've all been waiting for of course:

Round of 16 Pairings:

s{EX} Chaos Magician [1] vs Judgment Dragon [16]
Wind-Ups (1) vs T.G. Drain
(2)

fail cheater --> Zac [2]
vs
Fefe2931995 [15]
Geargia vs Wind-Ups

Chovy [3] vs Neji [14]
Hero Beat vs Hero Beat

fail cheater --> L Ryuzaki [4] vs Edward [13]
Hero Beat vs Chaos Zombies

Slonaka [5] vs Harbinger [12]
Dino Rabbit (1) vs Froggy Lancer (2)

Bloody Kiss [6] vs L.Lawliet [11]
Hero Beat (2) vs Wind-Ups (1)

sai [7] vs PhantomX [10]
Agents (1) vs Dino Rabbit (2)

Whatup Nab [8] vs FenixFX [9]
Hero Beat (2) vs Wind-Ups (1)

Best of luck to all of the Top 16!

So basically, it takes more skill to play an auto pilot deck such as wind-ups that running TG Drain, is that what you're saying?

Noob comment. Wind up its one of the deck that takes more skill to be played. Noob people have the idea that all meta decks are "auto pilot" well thats not true wind up has tons of differents combos and to determinate which is better for the situation of the momment its not always easy and that lead u to missplay. T.G Stun and all kind of decks are auto pilot they have like 2 or 3 combos Summon, set 3 4 woah u are such a pro... think what u say next time.

Go against the argument not against the person. Do you think calling me a noob makes your comment more solid ? No, it actually shows my comment drove you mad. Anyways, the so called noob has way more experience than you, so think what you say next time. WU's may have tons of combos, I'll give you that, but how does that make them harder to pay? Of course, if you don't have much of a brain it may lead you to a missplay, but only that. What makes them so easy to be played is simply that they can give you the complete control of the duel and then win in one single turn, while the decks you call auto pilot doesn't. Those decks have few combos, maybe, but against decks such as WU's that have the ability to win duels in 1 turn you have to think when is the right moment to activate your cards, one wrong move it's over.

1. I did not call u noob i said "noob comment" u may be or not a noob but with the stupidity u said...
2. Why should it drove me mad? i dont care about ur opinion i just want you to note that if u think a little u know u are wrong
3. U are not more experience than i do only on loosing maybe.
4. OF COURSE THAT IF U OPEN MAG SHARK U WILL SHOCK PAPY CARRIER RABBIT but in almost all other cases when u have 4 or 5 outs to determinate which will leave you in a better position its not easy and that makes u missplay in decks like T.G Stun Hero Beat Worms u have few outs per turn and they are in the most of the cases always the same that makes thoses decks so easy to play. and yes you have to think when to solemn torrential prison or any other sh*t but play arround your traps and control is much more easier that play around ur opponent field.

5. I will duel Zac on tuesday.

Okay it's official, you suck both at english and at yugioh. Stop talking as if you knew something kid, I wonder if everyone in argentina is as cocky as you, probably yes. Btw if you don't care about my opinion, why would you write such a wall of text full of errors just to answer me ._.

1st off i agree with eddie, TGs stun take more skill than windups..like seriously..windups have only like 4-5 plays to win the duel...and if u dont open good ure totally screwed..and its possibly impossible to play it out, but with TGs its easier to play-out a bad hand
2nd thing, fefe edward is more exprienced than u..and not in loosing in winning actually and gameplay, as for me if u call a person a noob then you put urself in a lower position than him and if u say that u didnt call him a noob then ure totally stupid

The argument is more important, people learn from it.

The conclusion that all of you should understand is this:
Wind-ups are indeed the best deck of the format and the hardest deck to pilot. Its a totally different thing if the player that is piloting it knows 4-5 plays, the deck has the biggest variety of plays in the game atm. Where stun decks care only about how you use your trap cards. It takes a good players judgement to know when to use a certain card, but not every 'good' player can play Wind-ups, opposed to that almost every skilled duelist can pilot an anti-meta deck.

yeah so ?
and L, seriously...i can count all the plays windups got on my hands..i mean my hand rofl..and as for anti-meta..actually there are no plays to count...its just how u control the game and urplaystyle..doesnt matter how u play ur cards...

EDIT: i said it doesnt target at activation cause i read a topic about it in pojo and a konami judge said that it doesnt target at activation and the ruling in wikia was changed..so dont blame me, and btw im not the one who asked if rabbit's effect can be used at dmg step or not .. lol

Before a mod removes this 'spam' I need to say this:

actually there are no plays to count...its just how u control the game and urplaystyle..doesnt matter how u play ur cards...

You realize that by saying this, you mean: You can be reckless with your traps at any point of the game, as long as it gives you some sort of 'control'... and like if you look even more into it, you're saying - summon monster, set 3 traps - opponent uses something you chain/respond with the trap = skill.

Please... once you understand what an auto pilot is and what it means to know how to use your cards properly, not recklessly, talk in discussions like this.
I said that arguments help people learn stuff, since both sides present valid points to the discussion and everybody else can see them, thus helping the neutral learn something they don't know. I meant it, your thoughts aren't helping anyone, certainly didn't prove your previous point that anti meta takes skill... Like I said, in order to call something skilful, brain activity must be involved, when you say -
'doesnt matter how u play ur cards' it means that 0 brain activity has been used.

When you understand that, only AFTER you do... you can continue the discussion.

yeah i gotta resp to that aswell..lol

first off, when i said it doesnt matter how u use ur cards..do u think it means that u can use them recklessly ? how about no ?u can use them carefully, u only get what you want to get...and thats what most of people are called stupid for
2nd may you explain to us what an auto-pilot is, please ?
3rd, i never said you should use ur cards recklessly, just some people use some cards in their own way of thinking maybe they see stuff from another point of view
4th you say that my thoughts arent helping anyone..who are you to say that ?and why do you think i intended to help anyone with what im saying, i didnt say anything helpful actually i was just proving u wrong..and i actually did it
5th playing ygo, even if u use exodia, takes brain activity... idk how the hell u couldnt realize that from the start, silly l
6th did u say anything complicated that a lil monkey couldnt understand that i wouldnt be able to understand ?
heh im done...u guys really disgust me lol ..

@L.Lawliet wrote:The argument is more important, people learn from it.

No more to say
