Esports in HighSchool

Post by DeathStalker on Sat Nov 21, 2015 12:25 am

So my school just introduced E Sports as an Official seasonal sports.

We joined www.hssstarleague.Com and www.highschookesportsleague.Com

So far We've been practicing League of Legends; Dota2 and smite. (I'm on the lol team btw). And will soon enter our first tournament soon.

Damn school had to introduce it the year I'm graduating.

So what do you think of ESPORTS in highschool, does your HS have it? (I know some colleges do). Remember this is pretty different from a video game club........

Our school invested money in custom built computer (pretty low budget ones, but good enuff to play lol and other free to play games at good fps).

I wish this was more prevalent, maybe then I would have had some good times in high school. I might not be a good competitive gamer, but I've always been good at learning.

By good I mean I never have gotten the chance to play competively, and plus, I have had a shit computer for years now, so it wouldn't have mattered anyway.

Well, my secondary education days (Basically Middle/High school for you USA folks) are years behind me (2009 graduate here) so I can only say that I wish that competitive gaming was recognised at that point in time, schools at then (at least here in Australia) didn't even entertain the idea of having a 'gaming club' or internal competitions with this stuff... Never mind having any inter-school competitions or anything of that sort!

Which is quite a pitty, had they been more open maybe I could look back at that point of my life as a fun time as opposed to a pain I no longer have to deal with. Ohh well... At least some quarters of the world have moved passed shunning the idea, so that's good.
