| Ah, well why do you think you're not a good duelist already? Anything specific you need to work on? |

| Okay well decks you can head on over to the deck discussion class by clicking here. There you can see decks other people have posted and maybe get an idea for a new deck of your own based on their ideas. You can also post your decks up and have people help you with fixes, etc. Synchro summoning is relatively new I guess... The monsters have been around for about two years so I see where you're coming from being a "GX Duelist." I used to be confused about the synchro monsters as well, but once you get the hang of them they're really quite easy to get used to, and you'll learn to love them. You synchro summon by meeting the requirement in level, and material written on a synchro monster allow it). You do so by using tuners, and non-tuner monsters (sometimes you can use two tuners, but not many synchro monsters. Here's an example of probably the best known synchro monster. | Spoiler: | | | |
See how it's level 8 (eight stars) and it says 1 Tuner + 1 or more non-tuner monsters?
Tuners are monsters are the monsters you need to start a synchro summon, not all monsters are tuners. You can find out which monsters are tuners since they will say "Tuner" next to where it says "Effect." Here's an example of a tuner:
| Spoiler: | | | |
The way to get Stardust dragon out would be to have a your Debris Dragon [lvl 4], and either a level three monster + a level one monster, two level two monsters, four level one monsters... you catch my drift. You have the total levels out on the field, and synchro summon by sending those monsters to the graveyard.
This will require you to swarm a lot by special summoning since it's not easy to get that many monsters on normal summons alone. Most tuners have an effect that will allow them to somehow swarm the field with other stuff. For example Debris Dragon allows you to summon a monster with 500 attack or less from your graveyard. So if you have a card like Dandylion in your grave
| Spoiler: | | | |
you can normal summon debris dragon, and special summon dandylion with its effect. Now dandylion's effect lets you summon two level 1 tokens when it's sent to the graveyard. If it's in your graveyard you most likely have at least one token from Dandylion's effect. When you summon Debris and get Dandylion into the field and you have a token you can sexy summon a level 8 synchro like stardust dragon by sending the monsters to the grave:
Debris Dragon - Level 4 Dandylion - Level 3 Fluff Token - Level 1
4+3+1 = 8
There are a lot of decks that focus on synchro summoning and have monsters that easily swarm fields. You could look into simple archtype decks like Scraps, X-Sabers or Blackwings to get a feel for the swarming. Once you get the hang of it you can try more complex decks that aren't archtypes such as plants. |
