I am a huge fan of retro yugioh formats such as Goat and Edison, and I am going to give you a quick guide on how to play online.
There are 2 types of Yugioh online games, better know as simulators, which are automatic and manual.
Automatic is fully automated, making it impossible to make a mistake, and is typically much faster.
Manual simulators are like playing in real life. You have to do everything yourself.
You can choose which method best suits you.
For retro formats, you might need pre-errata cards. Since some cards have had their effects changed throughout the years.
The best yugioh online simulator for playing both automatic and manual modes is Dueling Nexus.
Dueling Nexus supports all the popular retro formats, and has all the pre-errata cards you might need.
When constructing a deck, simply select the format you want from the banlist selection, this will automatically show you which cards are available, and once you are done, start dueling!
